Cape Horn Crossing Launches Major New Retail Space in Red Lion

Welcomes Tractor Supply Corporation and Members 1st Federal Credit Union

May 22, 2017 ~ Red Lion, PA ~ Cape Horn Crossing, LP along with general contractor, ABRN Development Corporation, is proud to announce the commencement of construction on its high-profile retail/office site located at the retail intersection of Cape Horn and Lombard Roads. Opening of the anchor businesses — Tractor Supply Corporation, Members 1st Federal Credit Union and a national wireless retailer — are slated for early 2018.

According to Lisa Frye, York Township’s Manager, the community has already embraced the new development. “York Township is excited for ABRN Development Corporation and their Cape Horn Crossing project. This project has been many years in the making, and ABRN has worked very hard to bring a quality project to the community that will provide new experiences for consumers, as well as additional job opportunities. York Township is anxious to welcome the new businesses at the Cape Horn Crossing location, and is looking forward to a long relationship with each. Congratulations ABRN on a job well done!”

Lisa Pomeroy Hess, Marketing Team Leader of Members 1st Federal Credit Union noted that the bank is excited to be opening a location in the area. “We are looking forward to building our new full-service, stand alone branch within the Red Lion community, and opening our doors for business in 2018.”

In addition to creating new retail sites, developing office buildings and bringing jobs to the area, Cape Horn Crossing will also improve the community’s traffic. Tom Austin, a principle for the Transportation Research Group in York, Pennsylvania, noted that “motorists using Lombard Road will see the biggest change with the addition of dual left turns at the signal for westbound traffic and restriping to provide a two-way left turn lane which will serve the proposed driveway, as well as the existing shopping center and Sheetz driveway on Lombard Road. With a proposed driveway on Cape Horn Road, additional turn lane improvements are planned for this section of the roadway.” Austin is very grateful to York Township for its unwavering support of this project. He also offers his gratitude to Windsor Township, PennDOT, Sheetz, and the surrounding neighbors for their cooperation in making these traffic revisions a reality. The completion of the $500,000 upgrade is anticipated to coincide with the opening of Cape Horn Crossing in 2018.
